He then tells himself that if he were jaunty a man he would take up a stick and kill it, but he realizes that even though it is a deadly snake he liked it.

As he keeps thinking to himself he com es across the realization that he feels rec! ognize that this snake would choose his water-trough to drink from. In the next stanza while the man is complex in thought the snake finishes drinking and starts to turn itself almost and go back through the hole it came from.
